Forget USB Drives, SanDisk Brings Wi-Fi Flash Drive to Replace the Need of USB

Madhav
With all the high definition images and videos inside, before you know it, you get a notification for your smartphone’s memory to be full. Most of us use micro SD cards to increase the storage capacity. But seriously, if you are a music buff, or like to store thousands of memories of your friends and family, then you would know what I’m talking about.

SanDisk has brought yet another brilliant solution for Wi-Fi-enabled devices such as smartphones like iPhones, Samsung’s Galaxy series, and others. It is a Connect Wireless Stick with 128 GB storage space that looks similar to an ordinary pen drive that gives you the luxury of a small private cloud in your pocket. Now you would have guessed by the name itself ‘a portable stick that stores everything you need inside wirelessly.’ You would already know that SanDisk had recently build world's smallest 128GB flash drive.

The Connect Wireless Stick has a built in 802.11n Wi-Fi system that can extract the files and media from three connected devices simultaneously. It is quite power efficient too. With a built-in lithium ion battery, it requires charging after being used for more than 4 hours continuously.

SanDisk has previously built the first ever USB Drive for phones with Type-C Connector for its consumers convenience. The company has also created the Wireless Sticks before, but this is their largest one with 128 GB of storagecapacity while the previous sticks were with 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB storage space.
Priced at $99, this small pocket SanDisk Wi-Fi Flash Drive could give a burn to your pockets with its steep cost. But, if you are one of those who like to keep it light and avoid additional load in your bag then this is a perfect storage device for you. Plus connectivity with three gadgets at the same time is something you won’t get with other storages.

This new app is designed to make mobile data faster on any Android smartphone

Madhav
Nothing is ever fast enough. Your car, your computer, your mobile data. But Shoelace Wireless has a plan to improve mobile data speeds on any Android phone with an impressive-sounding new app which combines a phone's Wi-Fi and cellphone downloads.
Netup wants to speed up your mobile internet.

The Californian startup company is currently seeking a 20,000 USD investment to bring to life Netup, an app that it is claiming is the "world's first Android app that speeds up mobile internet by combining Wi-Fi and celluar networks".

Shoelace Wireless co-founder Anh Le is well aware of these services, telling AndroidPIT: "Both Super Download and Download Booster allow the use of Wi-Fi and cellular simultaneously. But they have very limited functionalities: they do not support all traffic, they do not support you favorite apps. Netup does."
The other striking thing Netup has to offer over other so-called "Wi-Fi boosting" apps found in the Play Store is that it does not require root. You will simply install the Netup app, select which apps you would like it to "boost", and that's it.
But Netup isn't all about speed. As demonstrated in the Netup Kickstarter video promo, an unstable internet connection is the cause of many browsing headaches, including frequent buffering when watching YouTube videos, or long waits when loading images. Le says the "increased reliability" that Netup provides is even more important than a faster raw download speed alone. Check out the Kickstarter pitch below.

When asked what sets Netup apart from other speed-boosting apps Le said "Mobile users nowadays are surrounded with multiple wireless networks and they only use one network at a time, very inefficiently. Netup will empower the users to utilize all networks around them to get the best (faster, cheaper, more reliable) internet experience."
If the project is successfully backed, Netup will launch as a subscription-based Android exclusive app (exact pricing details have not been announced, but you can check the Kickstarter backer rewards to get an idea), with a beta expected in April 2015.
