Lava has introduced a new entry-level Selfie smartphone, the Lava Iris X1 Selfie for Rs. 6,777. The Iris X1 Selfie sports a 5MP front-facing camera with LED flash support, to enhance the photo quality under low-light condition.
The Lava Iris X1 Selfie houses a 4.5-inch IPS display with a screen resolution of 854×480 pixels. The display is further guarded by Asahi Dragontrail Glass. Powered by a Quad Core MediaTek MT6580 processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 1GB DDR3 RAM, the handset offers 8GB of inbuilt storage space, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
Moving to the camera part, the Iris X1 Selfie sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash with F/2.0 aperture and Gorilla Glass 3 cover lens. On the front-side, the handset sports a 5MP snapper along with LED flash.
Commenting on the launch event, Senior Vice President and Head Product, Lava International Ltd. – Navin Chawla said, “Keeping in line with the present trend and insights collected from our young audience, we are eager to announce the launch of Iris X1 Selfie, especially meant for Selfie enthusiasts.”
The smartphone lets you capture images with “V” Gesture for front camera, it also features voice-controlled photo capture by saying “Capture” or “Cheese” and has an HDR, Burst, Panorama and smile detection features for both rear and front camera.
Out-of-the-box, the Lava Iris X1 Selfie runs on the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. And a 2,000mAh Li-Ion removable battery completes the package.
Connectivity-wise, the Iris X1 Selfie comes with 3G HSPS+ support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth4.0, GPS, Micro USB 2.0, and a 3.5mm Audio Jack.

The Lava Iris X1 Selfie is available in three different color option, which includes Royal Black, Icy White and Purple. The handset will be available to purchase at Rs. 6,777 from all national retail stores and Multi-brand outlets and also through online channels from early next week.
